We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead our commercial strategy within the utility sector. The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is a a dynamic and results-driven individual that will lead Evolve Energy commercial strategy. The CCO will be responsible for driving business growth, enhancing customer satisfaction, and optimizing revenue streams. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategies that promote the company's offerings, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
Scope of the Role
Commercial Strategy Development: Creating and executing strategies to drive business growth, profitability, and market positioning within the utility sector.
Revenue Management: Overseeing pricing models, revenue-generating activities, and financial performance to ensure sustainable growth.
Customer Engagement: Developing and implementing customer-centric strategies to improve customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
Business Development: Identifying new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion to increase the company’s footprint and revenue streams.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all commercial activities align with industry regulations and governmental policies.
Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring the commercial team to achieve business objectives and fostering a high-performance culture.
Market Analysis: Monitoring industry trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviour to inform strategic decisions and maintain competitiveness.
Collaboration with Other Functions: Working closely with operations, marketing, and finance teams to align commercial strategies with overall business goals.
Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating commercial risks, including those related to market changes or regulatory shifts.
These duties focus on ensuring the company’s commercial success, customer satisfaction, and adaptability within a regulated and competitive utility sector. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Key Working Relationships (Internal): CEO,CTO, Director of Implementation & Executive Leadership Team. The role will have integral links working with all departments.
Key Working Relationships (External): Customers, Third Party Intermediaries, Industry Bodies

What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and implement the overall commercial strategy in alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and business objectives.
Identify market trends, opportunities for growth, and emerging business models within the utility sector.
Lead the integration of technology and innovation into the company’s commercial offerings, ensuring a competitive edge in the market.
Oversee the development and management of key revenue-generating activities, including pricing strategies, product development, and market expansion.
Foster relationships with strategic partners, customers, and industry stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
Manage customer acquisition and retention strategies to ensure sustained growth and profitability.
Develop customer-centric strategies that enhance satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term partnerships.
Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless service delivery and improved customer experience across all touchpoints.
Ensure that all commercial activities comply with industry regulations, standards, and governmental policies relevant to the utility sector.
Lead risk management initiatives to safeguard the company from potential regulatory or market changes.
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous professional growth.
Develop and manage commercial budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximise profitability.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of commercial strategies and make data-driven adjustments where necessary.
Report regularly to the CEO and Board of Directors on the status of commercial activities, including key metrics and growth initiatives.
Stay abreast of industry developments, competitor activities, and customer trends within the utility sector.
Provide insights and strategic recommendations based on market research and competitor analysis.
Personal Specification Skills & Experience
What Makes You the Perfect Fit:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. A demonstrable track record as a CCO or equivalent, encompassing 10+ years of experience preferably in the utility or energy sector.
Proven track record in revenue generation, business development, and managing high-performing teams.
Strong understanding of utility industry regulations, trends, and customer dynamics.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex business operations and drive innovative solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities, with a collaborative, results-oriented approach.
