We are seeking a high caliber Pricing Analyst to support delivery of Evolve Energy’s pricing strategy in accordance with our existing and prospective customer contracts. You will be working within a team of energy traders and pricing analysts. You and the team will be responsible for executing Evolve Energy’s pricing strategy, developing new business by managing inbound tender opportunities, executing trades, managing relationships with Third Party Intermediaries (TPI’s) and supporting the business by meeting Evolve Energy’s commercial growth targets.
Scope of the Role
The Pricing Analyst will analyse market trends, competitor pricing, customer behaviour, and regulatory changes to support the development of pricing strategies for our energy products and services. With full trading responsibilities including pre-trade analysis, execution, post-trade analysis, allocations and settlement across multiple strategies both internal and external TPI’s/ brokers. The role will collaborate with the internal departments to ensure pricing aligns with business objectives, cost structures, and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities
Tracking and analysing wholesale energy prices including the ancillary markets.
Maintain product literature and regularly review existing and potentially new contractual features.
Monitor and assess the performance of existing pricing strategies, adjusting as necessary based on market conditions and business goals and ensure all trading activities are in compliant with industry execution policies.
Ensure Portfolio Managers and Pricing Analysts always adhere to company protocol.
Responsible for demand forecasting and execution with industry counterparts across seasons/ quarters/ months including analysis of Baseload Only, Base/Peak load and Residual positions.
Manage and maintain strong relationships with commercial trading partners and have a sound awareness of all potential counterparty opportunities in the market.
Analysing system Imbalance prices against Baseload only and Base/Peak hedging strategies.
Real time tracking of Mark-to-Market (MtM) positions with wholesale counterparties and securing positions through different trading counterparties that preserves overall MtM headroom.
Create and set up new tenders in preparation for pricing
Generating and submitting supply offers for fixed and flexible products
Assisting the development of enhanced supply product innovations
Gathering feedback and undertaking analytics for internal reporting
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Third Party Intermediaries (TPI’s)
Facilitating market access for smaller TPI’s to a variety of flexible electricity and gas products
Liaising with key customer contacts
Securing new business on commercial terms and assist in pricing contract negotiations, particularly for large or complex deals, by providing data and strategic insights.
Undertaking internal analytics on non-commodity pricing components and ensuring these are closely monitored against prevailing market conditions and updated in pricing as necessary
Preparing forecasts around future commodity and non-commodity costs
The Ideal Candidate
A bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large sets of data, identify patterns, and make data-driven recommendations.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and experience with PowerPoint and conversant with Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
A problem-solving mindset with a proactive, results-oriented approach to work.
You will also be flexible in demonstrating an ability to undertake and fulfil a variety of tasks.
Understanding of short- and long-term customer needs and behaviour
Strong team player who actively participates in wider team discussions and activities
Self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative and to deadlines
Bonus, Skills & Attributes
Background in Electricity and Gas is desirable. It would be ideal to have a sound understanding of the different energy/contract products currently available and a technical ability on all aspects of energy trading.
